One of the hashtags I like to follow on Twitter is the Haiku Challenge. I had some inspiration last night and wrote a few. Enjoy!
1
The monsters are real
They live in our highest house
The children see all.
2
Who hears the soft cry
Of the lost soul in the wind?
We do, we do, love.
3
His fecal filled mouth
Bloviates and blathers on
As we sit captive.
4
Inspiration comes
In the quietness of night
Words captivate me.
5
Standing on the edge
I leaned forward and hoped that
Wind could catch my fall.
That's so cool you can do haiku, i don't think i can. Great job!!

DeleteTo write in five and seven
can really be fun.

I have to follow this hashtag! Oddly, I can only compose haiku at the end of a haibun. But I am always hopeful I will grow to be able to express so much in fewer words!

I love it, so many creative people in that tag!
DeleteI haven't written a haiku in years. Not since high school really. Wow! It just dawned on me that was over 20 years ago. This is an interesting challenge!
ReplyDeleteHigh school was a looong time ago for me as well, over 20 years. Good riddance, lol! It's a fun challenge :)
DeleteOh this is challenging and interesting. I had to google what it means for a poem, I've never heard of it at school. (or maybe they called it something different) I really love #4 and 5.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteThis is fun and different! I'll have to follow that hashtag! I, too, haven't written in Haiku in ages!
ReplyDeleteYay! I can't wait to read what you come up with!
