I have always wanted an office in all of the houses we have lived in over the years. I just never had an extra room to make that happen. With a son and a daughter, all of the rooms were taken up by kids and we surely could not afford more bedrooms than we needed. Now, I have enough rooms to have my office and a guest room for when they come visit!
After we finished the bedroom, living room, and guest room, I could finally start on my office! I started with the rug and went from there. I had a great time painting my desk (it needed it). I've always wanted one of these cube shelves with removable storage bins. I have so many cords to things that I have to keep and those bins are perfect for keeping them handy.
One of the essentials I definitely need is a space heater. January and February are the worst. Add that on top of my feet always being cold, I was glad New Air reached out to ask if I'd review their portable heater! I have worked with them a few times before so I knew they would be great. No more cold feet!
I liked the heater so much that when they asked if I'd like to review a Limited Edition Pepsi Mini Fridge, I accepted happily. When I first started thinking about an office, I didn't really think I'd need any appliances, but I was wrong! It's so convenient for when company comes over as well. I drink a lot of soda (it's my only vice) so a full beverage cooler equals a very happy me!
I put some decorative things up (my husband spoiled me this holiday season) and I think it's just about ready. Maybe I can actually finish that book this year. I was hoping to publish by the end of last year, but life happens! January is the month of setting goals and mine is to definitely focus more on work. Once I get a printer and a desk chair, it will be perfect. I started out with no idea of what I really wanted for my office, to making the perfect office space just for me.
GOAL: By March of 2019, finish my office. Done, January 2019!
I am considering sash windows for our next project: WINDOWS. But, that is still months away. I love the windows in our house, but they really need to be modernized. It's like watching money fly right out the window every time I turn the heat or ac on! We wanted to focus on the essential (meaning cheaper) things first, though and I'm so glad we did!
How would your dream office look? What are your office appliance essentials? Do you have a current project? Tell me about it in the comments!
Love your office..The Pepsi heater and fridge! Can't wait to see all your improvements as you continue!🌟
ReplyDeleteThank you! <3
DeleteWhat a cute space. A home office has always been a must for us. Its mostly an adult escape from our children lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I finally have one! Thanks!
DeleteVery inspiring. I also want an office of my own. It helps separate work from pleasure. The beverage cooler is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's great!
DeleteHaving a home office is really essentila for us bloggers. We need a space for us to be inspired and of course to have a little privacy when we need to work on important things. (BTW thank you for helping me in my post in Grow Your Blog by removing the space. Really Appreciate it :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteSetting up home office can be daunting, but it's possible and you get to enjoy it compared to decorating your office outside the house that you may end up packing up later.
ReplyDeleteI will bookmark this page to see how it turns out in the end.
I'm pretty much done, I just have to get a chair and it will be complete. I love it so much, already!
DeleteI love the fun bright colors you used for your office! It looks like a very happy space.
ReplyDeleteIt is, thanks!
DeleteAhhhh I love your light! I can't wait until I own a house instead of renting. You've got me dreaming 😊
ReplyDeleteI spent a long time dreaming, too but finally made it happen ;) Thanks, hubs spoiled me this Christmas!
DeleteI’ve worked from home for about 16 years at this point so I was equally excited as you were to get out of an upstairs spare room and into a nice space I created on our first level in what used to be a playroom for the kids. I could certainly use a Pepsi fridge though! Love what you did with the space.
ReplyDeleteYES! It's so awesome. When my son first moved out, we were still in a rental and I started to build my office there in his old bedroom. We ended up moving from there and now, I finally have it! Mostly, it's the convenience of having everything I need to work right there instead of spread out all over the living room and bedroom with my laptop. That fridge is the best, definitely. Thank you!
DeleteThis is so cute! My husband has a space heater in his home office and he loves it! My current home office is the dining room table. Maybe one day I’ll have time to make my own office space.
ReplyDeleteI spent many years using the dining room table, too!
DeleteThe rug really draws the eye—so interesting! My office/spare bedroom is a disaster. I need to declutter badly.
ReplyDeleteI bet in about a year, I'll have declutter as well, lol!
